Your Depression is Not Caused by a Chemical Imbalance! It is an Allergic Reaction to Inflammation

Antidepressant drugs are a $10 billion dollar market in the U.S. based on the chemical imbalance theory on an assumption that low serotonin levels can cause anxiety and depressive disorders. This is only an assumption which was never proven to be true. Namely, not even one experiment has shown that anyone has an “imbalance” of any neurotransmitters or any other brain chemicals; such thing does not exist, the theory was hypothetical.

In the last ten years, many experts have tried to prove this theory to be wrong. According to David D. Burns, author of “When Panic Attacks”, quoting:
“This theory is fueled more by drug company marketing than by solid scientific proof. Billions of dollars of annual profits from the sale of antidepressants and anti-anxiety medications are at stake, so drug companies spend vast amounts of money promoting the chemical imbalance theory. They also subsidize a large portion of the budget of the American psychiatric Association and underwrite an enormous amount of research and education at medical schools. Academic research should be all about getting to the truth. Drug company research is all about selling new products. But if I tell you that your depression or panic attacks result from a chemical imbalance in your brain, then I’m telling you something that can’t be proven, because there is no test for a chemical imbalance in the human brain.

Recent researching was performed on this issue, and it was concluded that depression is an allergic reaction to inflammation.

Inflammation is a natural condition of how the body response to an injury, infection,or foreign invasion. Once inflammation is caused, the body produces many chemicals like cytokines. Another expert called Tim de Chant of NOVA writes: “Inflammation is our immune system’s natural response to injuries, infections, or foreign compounds. When triggered, the body pumps various cells and proteins to the site through the blood stream, including cytokines, a class of proteins that facilitate intercellular communication. It also happens that people suffering from depression are loaded with cytokines.

Chronic inflammation can be caused by many factors like high sugar diets, obesity, high quantities of trans fats, unhealthy diets in general, and many other causes. Namely, the standard American diet supports inflammation thanks to richness of inflammatory omega 6 fatty acids and a lack of omega 3s. Follow this link, and find out which foods contain the most anti-inflammatory omega 3s.

Gluten Main Cause for Inflammation

Gluten is the main reason for causing inflammation. Once gluten enters the intestinal lining, then it goes to the bloodstream and eventually gets to the brain where it causes inflammation. As a result of this, the inflammation in the brain may develop into a neurological disorder including seizures, schizophrenia, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s disease.

Brain Silent Killers

  • Sugar,
  • Wheat,
  • Carbs,

ATIs is an abbreviation for Amylase Trypsin Inhibitors that can incite an inflammatory immune response in the GI tract by stimulating immune cells. This happens to people no matter if they have celiac disease or not.

Possible causes for inflammation can be food and gluten intolerances, autoimmune disease, and infection.
