Scientist Finally Discover Why Eating Red Meat Causes Cancer

The University of California conducted a study which discovered the results of consuming red meat and its connection to the increased risk for cancer.

Only in humans the consumption of red might increases the risk of development of cancer.

All of this is in fact related to specific and unique sugar named Neu5Gc.

This was discovered in a study published in December, called “Proceedings of the national Academy of Sciences”. The scientists found this unique sugar to be present in mammals which triggers the immune response that lead to inflammation.

The leading scientist of the study was Ajit Varki who explained the effect of Neu5Gc on mice: “Until now, all of our evidence linking Neu5Gc to cancer was circumstantial or indirectly predicted from somewhat artificial experimental setups …

This is the first time we have directly shown that mimicking the exact situation in humans – feeding non-human Neu5Gc and inducing anti-Neu5Gc antibodies – increases spontaneous cancers in mice.”

This unique sugar is present only in red meats, cow’s milk and different types of cheeses. The problem arises because our body can’t produce this sugar so when consumed and absorbed by the tissues it is considered as invader.

Due to this fact inflammation occurs and the immune system is activated. Once the immune system is subjected to Neu5Gc too often it might lead to chronic inflammation. In case the inflammation becomes chronic it might result with development of cancer.

People that consume irregularly red meat will definitely have decreased chances of development of cancer.

In comparison, animals who produce the Neu5GC can consume red meats without any harm. Therefore, it is strongly recommended to reduce the consumption of red meat in order to improve your health.

In case until now you thought that consuming red meat is not bad for your health we hope that with this article we solved all the dilemmas.
